Glastonbury Fashion 2016
Posted on 29 July 2016
Glastonbury, held every summer on a farm in Western England, is the ultimate music festival. It’s famous for the huge headlining bands, the celebrity appearances and, above all, the mud. But the weather doesn’t get in the way of the amazing festival style! Outfits this year definitely had to be a little more practical than at Coachella, but there was still plenty of gorgeous boho style on show.
Alexa Chung is a Glastonbury regular. This year, her outfits were the perfect combination of practical and fashion-forward. Vinyl leggings add a super-cool touch to traditional British wellies worn with a wax jacket.
Poppy Delevingne showed how boho can easily be made wet weather appropriate. Her floral printed mini dress looked gorgeous with a hoodie, shearling jacket, and tough boots. A black choker added an extra fashion-forward detail.
Suki Waterhouse and Lily Donaldson showed two different ways to style the Glastonbury essential - wellies. Suki layered a black sweater over her printed mini dress and added a beanie for an extra touch of cool. Lily went for a double denim look, layering an oversized denim shirt over a white cropped top and denim cut-offs.
Even though she was up on stage, not in the crowd, Adele stuck to the bohemian festival mood. Her stunning gown, custom-made by Chloe, is boho-luxe and perfect for the mud-free Glastonbury stage. The 1970s inspiration was definitely strong at Glastonbury this year, and a printed maxi dress is the perfect way to get the style for yourself
There was also plenty of amazing style to be seen on non-celebrities. This floral dress gets a shot of glamour with a sequin cardigan, and a practical touch with hiking boots.
Printed trousers mix style and comfort for the perfect festival outfit, especially when combined with a furry coat! This outfit is another great example of the 1970s influence that was all over Glastonbury.
Another great outfit from Poppy Delevingne - this time more rock and roll than boho. A fringed t-shirt is a great way to add edge to any outfit, and all-black looks cool anywhere.
The ultimate bohemian coverup, the fringed kimono, looks as awesome with wellies as it does on the beach. The long fringing on this one is a beautiful touch, although it might not have been great with the mud!
This outfit is boho perfection. The printed skirt and loose blouse go perfectly with the straw hat and even look great with the wellies. A fringed bag is a great way to add an extra little bohemian touch while still being practical.
Why not try tie-dye? This hippie favourite is an easy way to add a splash of fun to your festival outfit!
This monochrome outfit is an elegant way to do festival chic. Skinny black jeans and a leather jacket are cool but casual, while a cropped lace blouse is edgy and elegant at the same time.
